Cinnaminson ponders red-light camras (2010-01-20)

Many municipalities are re-thinking their use of red-light cameras, but Cinnaminson is in the early stages of applying to the state for permission to install them.

Knowing my hatred for the dreaded Route 130 corridor, it should come as no surprise that I wholeheartedly endorse the idea---although you can certainly expect some rear-end collisions as a result--but that's better than a T-bone collision or a killed pedestrian.

The following article indicates that the Route 130-Andover intersection may be the first choice--but the Riverton Road Intersection, where there are 2 traffic lights within a couple hundred feet of each other (in violation of New Jersey State standards) is where I would start.
