22 year old Drexel University student shot while waiting in line at the movies

On Friday evening, January 15th, a 22 year old Drexel University student was shot while waiting to buy a ticket at the Bridge, a National Amusements theater, on Walnut Street near 40th, about 4 blocks from the campus.

The student was shot in the leg, and is in stable condition at a local hospital.

From the newsreport, I'd have to characterize the shooting as scare and reckless. An off duty police officer from Harrisburg attempted to intervene into an armed robbery of the ticket stand---it appears the smart thing to do might have been to allow the robbery to proceed, and follow the robber, rather than announce that he was police office and start the ball of violence rolling. However, I'm more than willing to defer to police and violence experts on that one.

I haven't seen any public statement from Drexel University on the shooting.

Here's a link to the Philadelphia Inquirer news article if you want more details...

Hey not to criticize, but get your facts straight. He's 20 years old / a sophomore.

Thanks to both of these learned people for the update on this person's age---really, Anonymou,s dumb ass is uncalled for. I wonder if you're on of my D students.

Dumb ass, if you can read, you can see I cited the Philadelphia Inquirer article that provided the age of the student as 22.

I didn't write the article--merely reported the headline and the event, which is more important than the person's age.
