This may be just a temporary software glitch, but I was distressed today to find that I was unable to mail a box to a member of a military whose address was an APO (Military) address.
I was told by the Postal Clerk that this problem is being caused by a software glitch in a new system they are working with---and apparently today isn't the first day it's happened, they had to turn away other potential customers last week.
APO addresses are for overseas military, so it's ironic that a branch of the US Government is unable to ship to their own soldiers. Furthermore, apparently the new system wants to know the destination country, which is in many cases secret or classified---certainly something I don't know.
The workaround, apparently, is to go to another Post Office that is not trying out this new software---Palmyra, Riverton, or Delran.
I'll keep you posted on updates.
